Welcome back to school! Registration for Session 1 of the 2018-2019 school year is currently open. The last day to register for classes is Friday, August, 24th. Register by August 20th and receive $5 off per class (prices listed reflect discount).   Classes begin Monday, August 27th. Please email enrichment@encinoelementary.net if you have questions. Thank you for participating in our after-school enrichment program.  

Please read these instructions before starting the registration process:

1. Please choose your classes below, for one child only. You may choose more than one class for your student, but please make sure that they do not occur on the same day. The system will not correct you if you make this mistake.  NOTE:  You can search for classes by day if you enter the day of the week in the Search by field below.

2. To select a class for your child, please enter the quantity "1". Once you've made your selections, click "Continue" and enter all the required information for that child - name, teacher, afterschool program, etc. Please verify that you have entered your contact information carefully, because we will use it if we need to provide you with information about a class in which your child is registered.

3. Proceed to checkout and pay for classes using a credit card.  Do not combine your enrichment purchases with other website purchases.  If you are purchasing classes for more than one child, you must register and pay for each child separately.

Computer Programming (Monday 2:45-3:45)

Learn to code with Mr. Rodriguez! In this class, kids will learn how to use the Scratch programming language to create games and produce interactive presentations and more. Scratch, which was developed by MIT, is used to teach students the basics of programming. Kids will learn the fundamentals of programming using blocky code which will help them learn to think creatively and problem-solve. Students will also receive instructions on how to install and use the software at home.

Houdini's Magic Workshop (Monday 2:45-3:45)

Presto change-o! Following the Magician’s Code, students will begin their training as master magicians! This awesome class will allow children to become magic performers! Students will observe tricks and illusions, practice them and perform for each other. Students will learn and practice slight of hand, misdirection, and illusions using classic props. Students will develop their creativity and acting skills while performing their tricks in front of an audience of their peers. Each magician wil take home props to perform their tricks on friends and family! Tricks will include: Ball and Vase, Magic Genie Bottle, Coin Slide, The Crazy Cube, El Reverso, card tricks, and much more!

Professor Egghead is back and badder than ever! Come join the Super Structures Engineering Team this session as we design and build huge structures! Using LEGO™, students will build mega bridges that can withstand over 4 lbs. of weight, 4 foot tall skyscrapers, gigantic pyramids, connecting tunnels, elevators that lift things 5 feet in the air, and tons more. Then, we’ll try to knock em down, crush them, and put them to the test! At the end of the session, all students will graduate with an Egghead Engineering Super Structures Degree.

Young Ninjas: Loyal Monkey Session (Tuesday 1:45-2:45)

The monkey is one of the most loyal creatures in nature. The effortless sense of flow the monkey shows displays his sense of loyalty to the jungle, and the environment in which he lives. In order to earn your blue headband, you must learn to be loyal to your environment, for it is your environment that gives you the power to succeed. Students will participate in exciting martial arts games and activities that mix Tae Kwon Do, Karate, & Kung Fu with monkey themes. All Young Ninjas receive an official YNUSA and a personalized Certificate of Achievement at the end of the session. Ki-yah!

Join us as we step into the enchanted world of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast! The classic story tells of Belle and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. We will act, sing, and dance !
